It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Longreach Regional Council website.
Longreach Regional Council is made up of 4 vibrant communities across a large portion of Central West Queensland. The Longreach Regional Council encompasses the towns of Yaraka, Isisford, Ilfracombe and Longreach. Our Council is committed to working with all our communities to provide the most efficient services possible as well as achieving the best standard of living for residents in all towns, in what can be a very challenging environment.
The Longreach Regional Council offers a range of services. Information on these services are available on the web pages listed in the menus above and to the left. You might also like to take a moment to meet the Councillors of the Longreach Regional Council. They are a proactive and very positive team of Councillors committed to this whole region.
Whether you are planning a visit to our region to take in the many unique experiences or you would like to make your home in this piece of paradise, I am sure you will find something of interest to you.
Cruising down the Thomson River at sunset, a stroll along the Machinery Mile in Ilfracombe, visiting the Outer Barcoo Interpretation Centre in Isisford or take in the breath taking view of Mt Slowcombe in Yaraka - this region has it all.
Longreach also boasts two of Australia's major attractions, being The Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame and the QANTAS Founders Museum - both of these showcase the spirit of the outback, not only across the region but all of Australia.
