Chief Executive Officer
Ian Bodill GAICD
The CEO is appointed under local government regulation and is primarily responsible for the overall management and leadership of Council's operations. This involves regular contact with constituents, external stakeholders and other government entities.
Ian commenced duties as the Chief Executive Officer at Longreach Regional Council on 21 September 2015.
He has Local Government experience as Chief Executive Officer within Western Australia, Northern Territory and now in Queensland.
Ian has worked for Local Governments such as Augusta/Margaret River, Broome, Serpentine/Jarrahdale, Bridgetown/Greenbushes and was appointed as the inaugural CEO for the East Arnhem Shire in the Northern Territory.
Ian places an emphasis on Corporate Culture, Strategic Planning, Economic Development, maintaining a culture of good customer service and a team approach towards achieving outcomes.
He has a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Business (Property), a Masters in Emergency Management, a Graduate Diploma in Business and a Diploma in Local Government. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Ian is also a Justice of the Peace (Qualified).
Director of Corporate Services
Elizabeth is a seasoned executive with a strong government, commercial and infrastructure background. Her experience spans both the public and private sector and she has a strong track record in successfully managing large teams in the delivery of efficient and effective services.
Elizabeth joins Council direct from her previous role as Manager of the Total Solutions business unit within Local Government Association of Queensland. There she led transformation and significant growth in delivery of professional consultancy services and training to Queensland Councils. Key service areas included industrial relations and human resources, strategic and financial planning and management, internal audit, governance, and recruitment.
Elizabeth has also held a range of senior roles in the Queensland Government focussed on major infrastructure and mining projects and the education sector. At different times she represented both Queensland Treasury and the Department of State Development in Queensland energy strategy development across the public sector.
Her many qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Commerce and she is also a Chartered Accountant. Elizabeth is also District Commissioner for Scouts Association of Queensland Central West District.
Elizabeth looks forward to bringing her expertise to bear in service to our region.
Director of Infrastructure Services
Roger Naidoo commenced duties as the Director of Infrastructure Services at Longreach Regional Council on 23 May 2016. He has over 25 years experience in civil construction and local government in Australia and abroad. Roger has managed multi-million dollar civil construction projects while working for large private construction companies and has spent the last 17 years in a local government environment.
His Local Government experience comes from holding various management roles in Queensland, Western Australia, and Overseas.
Roger has a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology: Civil Engineering, Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Roger is married to Vimla and has two daughters, Lee-Anne and Machaela.
Director of Community and Cultural Services
David Perry commenced duties as the Director of Community and Cultural Services at Longreach Regional Council in December 2016. He brings to bear extensive experience in Education, Facility Management and Service Delivery in both public and private sector roles.
David has a Bachelor of Education and is a member of the Queensland College of Teachers.
