COUNCIL CALLS FOR COMMENT ON CORPORATE PLAN
Longreach Regional Council is inviting submissions from the public wishing to comment on its draft Corporate Plan 2017-2027, prior to its adoption.
The plan, which was developed following far-reaching consultation with the community late last year, seeks to accurately reflect the aspirations of the community in order for Council to deliver on them. Now the community is getting a chance to review and comment on the plan that they helped to create.
Longreach Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Ian Bodill said it was important that the community has its say.
“Modern councils are expected to fulfil greater social, cultural, and economic roles than ever before. With these extra responsibilities it is more important than ever for councils to be transparent and consultative in their approach to decision making.
“Through the Corporate Plan process we are capturing the needs of our community and involving them in setting the direction for Council.”
Copies of the document are available from any of the Council libraries or offices in Isisford, Ilfracombe or Longreach. The document is also available to download here.
Submissions should be made via email to firstname.lastname@example.org before close of business Tuesday 28 March.
