NEW ROUND OF GRANTS TO HELP ARTS SURVIVE IN REGION

Fiona Owens

A new round of grant funding is offering people and groups engaged in the arts an opportunity to realise their projects for the benefit of the whole community.

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between state and local governments that invests in quality arts and cultural experiences, across Queensland, based on locally determined priorities.

The fund promotes the role and value of arts, culture and heritage. It offers training, education and employment opportunities to local artists across Queensland.

Longreach Regional Council RADF Committee Chair Fiona Owens (pictured) is encouraging artists of all disciplines to apply.

“RADF can support any of the arts – fine arts, performing arts, digital arts – as long as it benefits the community. The process is simple and Council can help people with their applications’ she told reporters on Monday.

“There’s some funding that went un-allocated in the first round which we’re now carrying over to this second round; so it’d be good to see lots of submissions come in.”

The RADF Committee has set up its own webpage (www.radflongreach.com) featuring helpful information and relevant contacts. Parties wanting assistance in preparing their applications are advised to contact Council’s Events and Community Support Officer on (07) 4658 4111.

Applications close Wednesday 1 March 2017.
