Longreach

Edkins Park

Location - Corner of Landsborough Highway and Galah Street, Longreach

Edkins park has a covered BBQ facility with 2 children's playgrounds and Male/female/disabled toilets. Edkins Park also has the site of The Cenotaph and the Longreach ANZAC service is held here each year.

Lioness Park

Location – corner Sparrow and Cassowary Streets, Longreach

Lioness Park has a BBQ, children's playground area and male/female/disabled toilets. This park is entirely fenced

Rotary Park

Location - on the Landsborough Highway on the Eastern entrance to town, Longreach

It has covered BBQ area, and picnic shelter.

Apex (Riverside) Park

Location - Thomson River approximately 5 kilometres west of Longreach.

This park offers accommodation at $3.00/night up to 4 nights to travellers, which is payable at the Visitor Information Centre. It has a covered BBQ area and male/female toilets. Apex Riverside Park is the site of the Annual Longreach Yellowbelly Classic Fishing Competition.

Skate Park

Location - at the end of Eagle Street in Longreach, heading south towards Jundah.

The skate park is a covered and surround by a lovely green lawn and gardens. This is where you can ride your skate board, BMX Bike or Roller Blades. The skate park is a popular social area for local youth and

Ilfracombe

The Ilfracombe Memorial Park

Location - in the centre of town, on the Landsborough highway.

This attractive park has access to a 20m swimming pool and heated mineral spa. Shade structures are situated throughout and there are Male/female/disabled toilets/showers. Enjoy a leisurely soak and take advantage of the playground equipment and free barbeque facilities. The park is also home to the Rotunda, an elegant centrepiece erected in memory of Ilfracombe's war heroes.

Isisford

The Isisford Park

Location - in St Helena Street, beside the council branch office

This well-maintained park is equipped with toilets, showers and a bbq, and there is a children's playground nearby.

Yaraka

The Yaraka Park

The Yaraka Park is an attractive lawned area, complete with tennis courts, a playground, BBQ and picnic shelter and toilets. It also close to the town hall, and pool complex. A great place to stop and relax.

Named after the traditional owners who lived along the Thomson River, Iningai Nature Park is a peaceful area to explore and experience the native flora and fauna of Longreach. Download this brochure for more information and maps of walking trails.

Longreach Regional Council maintains swimming pools throughout the region. The facilities are popular with locals and visitors alike.

 

All pools will be closed on Christmas Day.

Longreach Memorial Pool & Aquatic Centre

A fun place for children and adults, the pool and aquatic centre is located at 81 Eagle Street. It includes a 50 metre pool, playground, children's waterpark, and a heated 25 metre pool. For more information call (07) 4658 1745.
