Civic & Cultural Centre
This modern facility provides all the facilities and services you need to make your conference or special event a success. Fully air conditioned with five breakout rooms and located in the centre of town, the Civic and Cultural Centre is a well equipped, professional venue. Fees for entire building or single breakout meeting rooms are available from the Schedule of Fees and Charges. Contact the Events Officer to discuss bookings.
The auditorium includes the stage, hall, change rooms and foyer. It seats 600 theatre style, 400 meeting style with both round and rectangular tables available. Dimensions – 25m x 27m. The Fairmount Room seats 200 theatre style, 100 class room style and 60 -80 meeting style. Dimensions - 23m x 8.5m. The Fairmount Room is also available half size.
The Thomson and Readford Rooms combined is adjacent to the courtyard. It seats 30 people theatre style, 20 classroom style and 15 meeting style. Dimensions -7.2m x 6.3m.
A Mezzanine level extends from the Thomson Room and overlooks the Auditorium. It is ideal for displays and exhibitions.
Facilities include the kitchen, bar and courtyard. The fixed kitchen equipment includes an industrial dish washer, conventional oven, jumbo oven and cool room. Bar facilities include the coolroom, taps and gas, glasses, dish washer and ample bench space.
The Courtyard is adjacent to the auditorium and meeting rooms and is an ideal place for morning and afternoon teas and cocktails. It is tiled and partially covered and boasts a water feature and garden beds.
Equipment available for hire includes, overhead projector, OHP screen, data projector, TV & video, whiteboard, static display boards, lectern, telephone connection, portable stage and PA system.
The centre is supported by the Civic and Cultural Centre Caretaker along with the assistance of the Events and Publicity Officer.
Catering can be arranged by Longreach Regional Council staff. Alternatively our staff can advise you of catering firms in Longreach.
Catering equipment for hire includes crockery and cutlery.
