The Library offers a wide range of items from junior fiction through to adult large print fiction, non-fiction, reference, paper backs and magazines. For those who enjoy listening to a book whilst driving or doing the housework, gardening etc, there's a great selection of audio tapes and CDs for all ages.

Adult literacy, items in other languages, music CD's, games, cassettes and videos for the toddlers through to adults is also available. If you require specific items or further information that is not held in the library requests to the State Library and Inter-library loans may be arranged. Simply ask the library staff for assistance for this free service.

The Longreach Regional Council Library is a branch library for the Bureau of Statistics  and holds microfiche indexes on Queensland Births, Deaths and Marriages. Our collection also includes our local newspaper The Longreach Leader which dates from 1923.
