Parks and Gardens
Longreach Regional Council maintains a number of Park and Garden facilities within the Region. In Longreach these include:
There are no fees for hiring parks to hold functions however we do ask that you advise council prior to the function or event taking place. If alcohol is to be consumed a permit will need to be issued by the Chief Executive Officer.

Lioness Park has a BBQ facility, children's playground area and male/female/disabled toilets. This park is also completely fenced. |
Edkins Park

Edkins park has a covered BBQ facility with 2 children's playgrounds and Male/female/disabled toilets. Edkins Park also has the site of The Cenotaph. Edkins Park is close to the main street. |
Skate Park

The skate park is where you can ride your skate board, BMX Bike or Roller Blades. This park is situated at the end of Eagle Street heading towards Jundah. |
Riverside Park
 |
Apex Riverside Park is located at the Thomson River approximately 5 kilometers west of town. The park offers 4 nights free accommodation to travellers. It has a covered BBQ area and male/female toilets. Apex Riverside Park is the site of the Annual Longreach Yellowbelly Classic Fishing Competition. |
Rotary Park

Rotary Park is situated on the Landsborough Highway on the Eastern entrance to town. It has covered BBQ area, and picnic shelter. |
Memorial Park
 |
Memorial Park in Ilfracombe is located in the centre of town and offers access to the local swimming pool. Shade structures are situated throughout the park including part of the swimming pool. Enjoy a leisurely swim and take advantage of the barbeque facilities and playground equipment, all provided free of charge. |
Recreation Centre

The recreational centre and adjoining refurbished town hall includes a
fourteen hole golf course, tennis courts and racecourse. The Recreational
Centre plays host to rugby league, cricket, weddings and
conferences. |
