Stock Routes and Reserves

The Longreach Regional Council has an endorsed Stock Route Management Plan. This plan covers items including mapping of stock routes, pest issues, water facilities, etc. This plan is available for download here.

Permits are required for agisting stock on Council reserves (Including the town common) and for travelling stock along stock routes within the Shire.

Application Forms for these permits are available for download and must be returned to the council office. Before any use of reserves or stock routes is undertaken a permit must be issued by Council along with the appropriate fees being paid.

Fees for agistment on the town common (Available for horses only) are available in the schedule of fees and charges.

Agistment Fees and Travelling Stock Permit Fees are set by the Department of Natural Resources and are available on request from the Council Office.
