Youth Development Services

Longreach Regional Council employs a Youth Development Officer on a full time basis. This position is funded by the Department of Communities.

The Youth Development Officer assists with the implementation of strategies to enhance the opportunities for young people between the ages of 12-25 to be involved in the development of their communities.
This position seeks to support young people and their families to redress some of the disadvantages experienced by youth in rural communities.

This position provides information and referral advice to young people and their families. To also provide links with other youth services, to refer to and advocate with other services regarding accommodation, health support and financial services.
