Artworks begin with curiosity – a little bit of trial and error, a little bit of chance – and then across the creative bridge from serendipity to aesthetically beautiful outcomes. Cyanotype is a historical photographic printing process that uses a chemical coated surface and UV exposure (sunlight) to create a negative-like images on a dark blue background. Additionally, the workshop focuses on alternative and experimental surface treatments that come from adding ordinary household materials and everyday chemicals before the cyanotype exposure process. The outcomes are fluid and undecided, because each person will approach the processes in their own individual way. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to Create traditional cyanotype prints Develop alternative and experimental surface treatments Let go of a pre-determined outcome, to connect with creative intuition This is a slow-paced workshop, with some pre-preparation provided. No previous skills are required – just a playful attitude. 10 years to adults.
