Acting Chief Executive Officer
Director of Infrastructure Services
Roger Naidoo commenced duties as the Director of Infrastructure Services at Longreach Regional Council on 23 May 2016. He has over 25 years experience in civil construction and local government in Australia and abroad. Roger has managed multi-million dollar civil construction projects while working for large private construction companies and has spent the last 17 years in a local government environment.
His Local Government experience comes from holding various management roles in Queensland, Western Australia, and Overseas. Roger has a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology: Civil Engineering, Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He is married to Vimla and has two daughters, Lee-Anne and Michaela.
Director of Community and Cultural Services
Lisa brings valuable Local Government and Public Sector experience to the role of Director of Community and Cultural Services. She has prior experience living and working in Western Queensland. Lisa was born and completed her schooling years in Blackall, QLD. Lisa relocated to Brisbane, where she completed her tertiary studies and entered the workforce in Agribusiness for the National Australia Bank. Lisa returned to the area 10 years later to her first Local Government appointment in senior positions at Barcoo Shire Council. She joins Council having previously served as a Senior Consultant for the Mead Perry Group – consulting to local governments state-wide in a variety of areas including Governance, Human Resources, Community Services, Tourism, and Finance.
Lisa joined Longreach Regional Council in 2019, wanting to continue her career in Local Government, given her passion for the west and small communities. Her qualifications are in Management and Leadership, Human Resources, and Business – and she is currently undertaking further study in Law and Psychology. Lisa is based in Longreach, with husband Marc and sons Bobby and Vinny.
Acting Director of Corporate Services
Acting Director of Corporate Services Margaret Gatt is an experienced local government executive with a track record in strategic asset management, planning and performance, and financial management. Margaret has a wealth of experience in the sector across diverse functions including governance, people and culture, depot, fleet and workshops, and information technology. She joins Longreach Regional Council having previously held senior roles at Central Highlands Regional Council, Mackay Regional Council, and the City of the Gold Coast.
Margaret has completed post-graduate studies in financial leadership, and has qualifications in local government and project management. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Local Government Finance Professionals, and the Local Government Managers Association.
Chief Financial Officer
David joined Council as Chief Financial Officer in January 2022. With over two decades of experience in manufacturing, property development and finance companies, including as Chief Financial Officer of an ASX listed company, David brings specialist expertise in building value-adding finance teams and strategic financial management. David has a Bachelor of Accounting and is a member of CPA Australia.
Human Resources and Workplace Health & Safety Manager
Grace Jones joined the former Longreach Shire Council as a trainee in 2008, prior to amalgamation, and has been with Council ever since. A proud Longreach local, Grace has spent just under fourteen years working for Council in a variety of increasingly senior roles across the organisation. Her broad range of experience with Council has included roles in Tourism, Accounts Payable, Finance, Customer Service, Administration, and Rates.
Grace holds Diplomas in Leadership & Management and Local Government Administration, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
