Public Comment - Amendments to Local Laws and Subordinate Local Laws

Council is calling for public comment on amendments to the following Local Laws and Subordinate Local Laws:

  • Local Law No. 1 (Administration)
  • Subordinate Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management)
  • Subordinate Local Laws No. 3 (Community and Environmental Management) 

The purpose and general effect of the proposed amendments is to provide clear provisions and requirements relating to temporary dwellings (e.g. caravans), backyard fires, and keeping of rats on town allotments. 

Written submissions by any person in support of, or objecting to, the proposed amendments are invited for a 21 day period commencing on Friday 9th October 2020 and ending at 5pm on Monday 2nd November 2020 (the comment period).  

During the comment period, Council will make copies of the proposed amendments available online and for inspection at Council’s public offices in each township.
Submissions must be received on or before Monday 2nd November 2020 stating:

  • (a)    the grounds of the submission; and
  • (b)    the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
