A Not-So-Silent Night 2025
Join Us for a Night of Christmas Magic!
Celebrate the joy and wonder of the season with an unforgettable evening of old-fashioned Christmas caroling, led by performances by local school choirs and the town band, along with a special Nativity presentation by the Longreach Combined Churches, followed by an exciting performance of singing and dancing with Bethany Fisher’s Christmas Spectacular guaranteed fun for the kids. Finishing the evening with Shenzo Gregoria returning again for an encore performance, and of course… a special visit from Santa himself
Food & Drinks Available plus, a Cash Bar hosted by the QANTAS Founders Museum (please drink responsibly).

Dinky Bullen Memorial Christmas Lights Competition 2025
It’s time to light up the Longreach Region and spread some festive cheer!
We’re calling on homes, outback properties, and entire communities to get creative and decorate your front yards, fences, sheds, gardens – wherever you can add a sparkle!

1. Register your address and category through our online form or collect one from your local branch office.
2. Decorate your space with Christmas lights and festive flair

Judging: 6th & 7th December
Winners announced: Longreach & Ilfracombe at the December Council Meeting held in Longreach. Isisford & Yaraka at their town's Christmas celebrations.

Design a Christmas Tree Competition
Get into the festive spirit and show off your creativity in our "Design a Christmas Tree" competition!
Whether it’s colorful, sparkly, wacky or wonderfully traditional this is your chance to show us how you would decorate the ultimate Christmas tree. We want to see your most imaginative Christmas tree designs!
Each entry must include the Name, Contact Number, and Age of the participant.
All lights used on display trees must be battery-operated or solar-powered – no plug-in lights permitted.
Trees must be self-standing, placed in a pot or base.
Must not exceed a maximum height of 1 meter.
Entries open now & close Friday 28th November 2025
Drop your entry into either Longreach or Isisford libraries or send us a picture to
council@longreach.qld.gov.au
